Iron Oxide Red is a lab-produced pigment, infusing a deep golden hue into our shimmering natural mica. Ethically-sourced mica makes up less than 1% of The Good Stuff's formula, and iron oxides make up less than 1% of our mica.

Although iron oxides can be found in nature - and this is nearly always our preference - they often contain impurities and heavy metals that fit neither FDA requirements nor our own standards. Synthetically-produced oxides are considered the safest option for enhancing color or shimmer in personal care formulas.
