WHAT DOES THE PENDULUM POTION SMELL LIKE?

The primary scent in The Pendulum Potion come from the Balsam of Peru oil, lending a slightly sweet, woody, and spicy note that is reminiscent of the raw honey and cedar notes in The Honey Mud. It has a smoky, green (a few clients have mentioned marijuana-esque!), campfire essence to it that pairs beautifully with our raw cacao, macadamia, sweet orange, ylang-ylang, and frankincense. The aromas of spice, earth, trees, and fire in this unique formula ground me like no other! It is no doubt distinctive, and in combination with a super steamy, soft cloth, the ritual is beyond addictive in both practice and results.

DOES THE FORMULA EMULSIFY OR DOES IT REQUIRE A CLOTH TO REMOVE?

As I wanted every single ingredient to be beautiful and vital for the skin and compatible even if left on (it's also a gorgeous treat for body and hair), I left out an emulsifier. In the mornings I will sometimes just rinse well while splashing and massaging with warm water, but in the evenings, grab the softest cloth you can find and use it to gently steam the oil from the skin, taking the pollutants of the day with it.

WHAT ARE THE DARK DROPS IN THE OIL?

The little dark flecks and droplets sometimes visible in this unique formula are from our raw cacao oleoresin, contributing both the warm, chocolatey tone of this treasure, along with its potent dose of anti-oxidants. We love our cacao in its purest, most natural state for the ultimate benefit. Give your bottle a shake before dispensing to distribute this goodness, and then massage into your skin. The particles will dissolve beautifully, sinking deeply into your epidermis and delivering free-radical protection.

THE COLOR OF THE PENDULUM POTION SEEMS TO BE GETTING DARKER, IS THIS NORMAL?

Over time, our raw cacao oleoresin further integrates into the formula within your unique bottle, changing the overall color. Whether freshly blended or more "matured", the goodness is all there to enjoy.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PENDULUM POTION AND THE HONEY MUD? CAN I USE BOTH TOGETHER?

The Honey Mud and The Pendulum Potion are quite different, though very complimentary to each other. The Pendulum Potion is a cleansing oil, and I typically like to indulge in this as my first step in the evenings, removing any makeup before moving on to The Honey Mud as a second cleanse or masque treatment, feeding nutrition back into the skin.

CAN I LEAVE THE PENDULUM POTION ON AS A FACIAL OIL?

You may absolutely indulge in this beauty as a last step, allowing the beneficial ingredients to drink right into your wet face, neck and décolleté (and every other inch from head to toe) immediately after cleansing for beautifully balancing and nourishing hydration. This said, we would encourage the prioritization of The Blue Cocoon and The Youth Dew in your ritual for leave-on care as these were specifically formulated to meet the specific needs of delicate facial skin.

CAN THE PENDULUM POTION BE USED FOR HAIR OR BODY?

This treat is incredible for hair - a few drops smoothed through locks or blended with your conditioner adds luster and sends you off into the world softly emanating the most intoxicating of scents. I also love The Pendulum Potion on damp skin immediately following a shower, drizzled into my bath water, or worn on pulse points for the most grounding perfume to center me throughout the day. And watch out if you put this on a man - it does something totally sensual with their chemistry. ;)
