Sunflower
The name Sunflower originates from the Greek word 'helios,' meaning sun, and 'anthos,' meaning Flower. Archeologists estimate that cultivation dates back more than 8,000 years and even began before corn, squash, or beans.
At a young age, Sunflowers exhibit what is known as heliotropism, which means they follow the sun. In the early mornings, these golden flowers of joy and positivity face east, waiting for the rising sun as it travels across the sky. As the sun moves throughout the day, the flowers follow the light westward, their seed-filled heads facing up until eventually catching one final glance of warmth as the sun disappears over the horizon.
Hailing from Spain, our gorgeous, cold-pressed oil deeply nourishes the skin. Rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, specifically linoleic acid, the anti-inflammatory properties of the sunflower protect and support cellular repair and regeneration while calming the skin and significantly improving its health and appearance.
The light texture of sunflower's oil suits our natural sebum perfectly, keeping pores clear yet hydrated, making this an especially beneficial oil for sensitive, maturing, and acne-prone skin.
